....TERMINATED....

Hats off to Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Stanley "Tookie" Williams, notorious founder of the Crips gang, was terminated (pardon the pun) this morning for the murder of four people over 20 years ago.

I'll be honest, I sure thought ol' Arnie would be swayed by the copious outpourings of celebrity emotion and pleas for mercy surrounding this creep. Hailing from Hollywood himself, it seemed only natural that Republican Arnold, a fiscal conservative and social liberal, would cave to the big name pressure from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Jesse Jackson, Mike Ferrell, Bianca Jagger and Jaime Foxx and stay the execution of a man they all claimed should be spared the lethal injection he received.

By refusing to stay Williams execution Schwarzenegger has taken a strong stand for the sanctity of our American judicial system and our national respect for the rule of law.

Twenty-six years ago, Williams, then the head of the bloody, ruthless Crips gang in LA (responsible for over 10,000 deaths in CA) shot and killed four people (one entire family) with a sawed-off shotgun, made off with a meager amount of stolen cash, bragged about the killings and made fun off his victims. He was awarded death by his jury, which, despite common belief, did contain a black juror who voted FOR the death penalty, unlike the claims made by racial-pot-stirrer-extraordinaire "Rev." Jesse Jackson. "Tookie" exhausted his pleas and requests for review, and how do you know when someone is truly guilty - when even the ultra-liberal California court system refuses to stay the execution of a black man that has received a ton of press, media attention and celebrity backing, that's how!

With the hour of his demise fast-approaching, Williams decided he was a changed, redeemed man, even though his history in the prison system seemed to prove otherwise. Stan was involved in countless altercations between guards and other prisoners and while he did write a handful of anti-gang kids books (the bestseller clearing a mere 330 copies) was hardly, upon closer inspection, the model of perfect behavior while incarcerated.

And if "Tookie" really was the changed man he claimed to be, only interested in keeping kids from gang life, I'd argue that the best way he could have done so was by addressing the nation, publicly admitting to and repenting for his crimes, showing respect for his victims and American law and order and warning kids, "if you don't want to end up like me - dying by lethal injection, then don't do what I did." That would have spoken SO much louder than any book or Nobel Peace Prize. After all, anyone can be nominated for a Nobel Hell, Jimmy Carter got it a few years back!

And with all the public outcry from Hollywood elites and bleeding-heart 60's-throwbacks, where was the grief and sorrow for the VICTIMS! Four people lost their lives, families lost loved ones, friends and neighbors. No one was out chanting for them! Talk about misplaced pity!

What is the left's obsession with defending the defenseless? If it's not "Tookie" it's Mumia Abu Jamal, an unrepentant cop-killer sitting on death row who's been canonized by the left as a victim of a racist system. Hmmmmm, that sounds familiar, "Tookie" never once admitted he was guilty, only that he was the victim of a racist legal court system. And if he was truly innocent, why were his admirers asking the Governor for mere clemency, not an all out pardon? Maybe even they know, deep down, that he was guilty but instead chose to do the "feel-good" thing and attempt to save his life, pat themselves on the back for being good Samaritans, get some camera time, appear compassionate, but not truly fight for justice to be done.

But isn't that just life with the left; pick a "compassionate" project, grab the limelight, direct the public consciousness on themselves and fight, fight, fight, no matter how ridiculous their plight might be, (see anything related to Greenpeace, World Hunger, or AIDS.)

Bottom line, I'm glad to see "Tookie" gone. We've got to hold the line when it comes to the rule of law; not get even, but see that justice is done.

Justice has been done and, once again, kudos to Governor Schwarzenegger for having the insight and wisdom to keep this verdict intact and rid our world of one more unrepentant cretin draining the system.

And don't even get me started on how long he sat on death row, God only knows how much money he cost the hard-working taxpayers of California. Unbelievable.
